Interstate Waste Services, a leading waste management enterprise in the U.S. Northeast, is looking for a skilled B Mechanic to join our dedicated team. This role focuses on maintaining and repairing our fleet of waste collection vehicles to enhance operational efficiency and safety. The position requires technical expertise, a strong commitment to safety, and the ability to work collaboratively in a fast-paced environment. Conduct routine and emergency maintenance on waste collection vehicles, including diesel trucks and compactors. Diagnose mechanical issues and perform repairs. Follow all safety protocols and procedures during maintenance. Maintain accurate records of maintenance and repair work. Collaborate with the maintenance team to streamline operations and share best practices. Participate in training sessions to stay updated with the latest industry technologies and safety standards. Proficiency in diesel engine repair Experience with hydraulic and electrical systems Strong problem-solving abilities Effective communication skills Ability to follow detailed instructions Certified Diesel Mechanic (CDM) preferred Hydraulic systems certification is a plus
