2025-26 Middle School Assistant Principal of HumanitiesBronx, NYAbout UsBrilla Schools, a growing K-8 network in the Bronx, serves over 2,000 students with plans to expand to educate 3,000 across four elementary and four middle schools. Our classically inspired approach to education combines a content-rich curriculum, inquiry-driven learning, and a focus on virtues, while providing individualized support to meet each child's unique needs.Position OverviewThe primary responsibility of the Middle School Assistant Principal (AP) of Humanities is to bring Brilla Public Charter Schools' mission to life by executing the Strategic Priorities set forth by the Principal. Supervised directly by the principal, the AP of Humanities ensures continuity of instructional practice and fidelity to the curriculum by providing coaching and support in adaptation to meet the needs of a particular cohort.Core Competencies & ResponsibilitiesInstructional Leadership

  • Model a deep understanding of instructional best practices and command of elementary Humanities content.
  • Conduct regular classroom observations, live coach and provide feedback that urgently develops and deepens teachers' understanding of instructional practice in support of high student achievement.
  • Engage in ongoing analysis of student data to inform strategy, professional development and adjustments to instruction in support of achieving high student outcomes.Talent Management
    • Demonstrate strong collaboration and communication with all team members and network partners.
    • Support principal with the interviewing, hiring and onboarding of new staff.
    • Conduct bi-weekly coaching meetings with teachers on caseload grounded in student data, instructional feedback and practice.Strategic Thinking
      • Support principal in crafting and communicating strategic school systems, culture, and vision that is urgent, creative and grounded in best practice.School Culture
        • Create intentional experiences that foster joy, a love of learning, and a sense of belonging to the school community.Family Engagement
          • Support and participate in family engagement initiatives, including, but not limited to, monthly Coffee and Conversations, Parent University and Family Involvement Committee meetings.Qualifications
            • An unwavering, confident, and enthusiastic commitment to the educational mission of the Brilla Schools Network.
            • A high level of initiative, flexibility and resiliency in the face of challenge, change or ambiguity.
            • Bachelor's degree or higher from an accredited institution (Master's Degree preferred).
            • At least two years teaching in an urban school serving predominantly low-income children with demonstrated exemplary student achievement results within Humanities content(s).Benefits
