Location: Hilltown, PA 18969 Description: We have an excellent
opportunity for school nurses for the school year in Quakertown,
PA. The school nurse is responsible for assisting to coordinate
and/or provide necessary health related services to support the
educational programming and physical needs of students assigned.
All duties are to be performed in accordance with State Board of
Education policies and procedures and state law regarding nurse
practice. Responsibilities: Provide direct medical/health related
services to students, in accord with District and Intermediate Unit
policy, including, but not limited to the following: catheterizing
parental (intravenous insertion/re-insertion of tubing).
administration of oxygen, dispensing of medication, orally,
rectally, per tube, intravenously, etc. ostomy care and irrigation,
respiratory assistance, including post drainage, suctions,
tracheotomy tube care and cleaning, cardio-pulmonary resuscitation
Assess all students, faculty, and staff Triage and treat any and
all illnesses and injuries Educate and counsel children and
families regarding health related issues Document care provided
according to school policy, procedures and protocol Other duties as
they may arise from time to time as may be assigned by a building
administrator. Attend training sessions, in-service workshops, and
update skills as necessary. Provide advice and possible solutions
to supervisor, principal, or other appropriate staff concerning
health or safety hazards in the school environment. Participate in
meetings to develop and update I.E.P. s and C.E.R.s., as necessary.
Ensuring that proper first aide and health care supplies are in
stock and re-ordered as necessary. Qualifications: PA Registered
