Role Overview
Manages and oversees the Spire Orthopedic Partners Compliance
Program. Responsible for monitoring compliance across the
organization, ensuring policies and procedure that facilitate
compliance up to date and continuously monitored. Ensures staff
receive appropriate training on such policies and procedures.
Reports to Chief Operating Officer
General Responsibilities:
Develop, revise, and implement the Spire Orthopedic Partners
Compliance Program; including implementing policies, procedures and
related employee education/ training designed to facilitate
compliance with state and federal laws.
- Conduct compliance audits to determine whether policies and
procedures are being followed and identify risks and
opportunities.
- Manage and regularly evaluate Spire Orthopedic Partners privacy
program, including but not limited to monitoring possible areas of
risk and implementing corrective action plans; evaluating and
revising as necessary policies and procedures of the organization;
and working with the Information Technology Department to review
all system-related information security plans throughout the
organization's network to ensure alignment with security and
privacy practices.
- Maintain organized and appropriate files and documentation in
support of compliance efforts.
- Prepare reports on a regular basis for review by the Executive
Leadership Team on the Compliance Program, including results of
compliance program audits and an overall assessment of the
compliance health of the organization.
- Conduct investigations into alleged or suspected compliance or
privacy issues and ensure all issues reach a resolution and such
investigations and resolutions are properly documented.
- Liaison to government agencies and coordinates site visits for
regulators
- Work with the external General Counsel to obtain legal advice
on compliance issues when necessary.
- Ensure that all government reporting and patient notification
obligations are met.
- Coordinate with the Chief People Officer to ensure the delivery
of an effective training program.
- Review on an on-going basis and develop and update as necessary
all relevant policies.
- Track laws and regulations that might affect the Company's
policies and procedures and works with external General Counsel to
draft and update plans, protocols and policies and training as
appropriate.
- Education: Bachelor's degree in Business or Healthcare
Administration or related field required.
- Experience: At least 3-5 years of experience in compliance with
a focus on healthcare.
- Substantial experience with healthcare compliance, including
health privacy
- Exceptional analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Keen ability to investigate, review and analyze incidents from
a non-judgmental and unbiased point of view.
- Strong oral and written communication skills.
- Exceptional interpersonal skills and ability to handle
sensitive and confidential matters across all levels of the
organization.
- Strong organizational skills. Ability to juggle multiple
priorities.
- Strong attention to detail and time management skills.
- Proficient in use of Microsoft Office products, particularly
