--Greenwich Country Day School (GCDS) is an independent, co-educational day school with a current enrollment of 1375 students in grades N-12, and a faculty and staff of 350. The original Old Church Road campus is home to grades N-8 and the new Upper School campus (9-12,) is located less than two miles away on Stanwich Road. The Carriage House is a multi-age, child centered, open classroom providing care for infants and toddlers from 8 weeks to 3 years of age.-- The program is open to children of GCDS faculty and staff.--At The Carriage House we believe that play is learning for young children and offer many developmental opportunities for exploration.-- In addition to the nurturing care provided by our program, an emergent curriculum helps lay the foundation for future growth and learning. The ideal candidate will possess prior experience working with this age group and draw upon this background to work as part of a cohesive teaching team in a creative, open concept program, to develop and implement our curriculum while providing direct care for infants and toddlers. This is a full-time, 10-month/year position with a Monday-Friday 7:15am-4:30pm schedule.Responsibilities Include:Team teaching of established curriculumSupervision of childrenProvision of a safe, joyful, and inclusive environmentRegular communication with program administrators and parents regarding childrens daily routinesRequired Qualifications:CDA, Bachelors or Associates Degree in Early Childhood Education or related fieldPrior experience and demonstrated ability to work with infants and toddlersWorking knowledge of current child development, ECE theories and practicesSolid knowledge of the domains of development (physical, intellectual, social and emotional development as it pertains to stages within the first three years of life)Knowledge of infant & toddler sign language and ASLOpen to new philosophies and standards of careFamiliar with NAEYCs Developmentally Appropriate PracticesA passion for celebrating and-- educating young childrenDemonstrated success operating in a manner which promotes a healthy, safe environmentRespectful, consistent, loving, compassionate, patient mannerEffective communication and interpersonal skillsSome technological proficiency including familiarity with smartphone applications, iPad, laptop and desktop computersResilience and ability to work in an established teamCertification in Infant & Toddler CPR and first-aidDemonstrated ability using positive discipline methodologyCommitment to building a diverse, equitable and inclusive school communityPersonal traits appropriate for nurturing the growth of children - must be energetic, creative, flexible, patient, and have an inexhaustible sense of humorInterested candidates are invited to use the link provided to submit a cover letter and resume toSusan Fahey Khanna, Director of Human Resources--Powered by JazzHR
