Hartford Hospital was selected as one of the Top 50 hospitals for Cardiac Surgery Award - 2021, 2022, as well as 100 Best Hospitals for Cardiac Care and Coronary Intervention Awards for 2021, 2022 Center 10 is a 26 bed inpatient Telemetry Unit which is part of the Hartford HealthCare Heart & Vascular Institute at Hartford Hospital. Nurses on Center 10 care primarily for patients diagnosed with Arrhythmia disorders and Congestive Heart Failure. Other patients cared for on Center 10 include patients who are pre- operative open Heart Surgery; and other Cardiac patients requiring monitoring. The pace is professionally challenging and stimulating and a wonderful learning environment. The assistant nurse manager supervises a work group to ensure that a high quality, cost-effective product or service is delivered in support of the hospital's strategic plan, and the function's goals and objectives. They model the effective, efficient operation of the unit by scheduling and assigning work, resolving processing problems, collecting data to monitor progress, and carrying an assigned workload or filling in as necessary. While continually strives to improve quality and productivity by identifying improvement opportunities, and recommending and implementing changes. They will implements and monitors departmental goals and objectives for the work group that align with the strategic direction of the organization, by analyzing needs and developing recommendations. The assistant nurse manager will implements individual performance expectations; coaches, develops, and provides input to performance evaluations to enable employees to be successful in contributing to the achievement of individual and work group objectives.
Qualifications
--- Current Connecticut RN License.
--- Graduate of an accredited nursing school (BSN required).
--- BLS certification by the American Heart Association and proof of Arrhythmia Certification required prior to date of hire.
Prior leadership experience and/or unit committee work highly preferred.
Specialty certification highly preferred.
Strong communications skills required - both written and verbal.
