The Smilow Cancer Hospital at Yale-New Haven Hospital is designated as a Comprehensive Cancer Center by the National Cancer Institute, one of only 41 in the country. The Department of Neurology at the Yale School of Medicine seeks to hire a Neurohospitalist at the rank of Assistant or Associate Professor to complement our inpatient services at Greenwich Hospital. Rank will be based on education and experience. Neurohospitalists evaluate and treat the whole spectrum of neurological disorders in the emergency department, the general medical and surgical floors, and the medical and surgical intensive care units. We anticipate faculty applicants to be dedicated to excellence in patient care and educating the next generation of subspecialty experts. The position offers applicants an exciting opportunity for individual programmatic development and goal discovery across varied clinical or academic interests within our department. The full-time neurohospitalist position includes 24 weeks (Monday – Sunday) on the inpatient consultation service. Schedule modifications (combination of 5- and 7-day work weeks; combination of inpatient service and ambulatory general or subspecialty practice) may be possible based on the candidate’s interest. The neurohospitalist will join the ladder faculty at Yale School of Medicine and a team of general and subspecialty-trained neurologists providing advanced neurologic care using a patient-centered multidisciplinary approach across the state of Connecticut and in Rhode Island. Qualifications - We seek motivated academic physicians with clinical expertise in: - the care of adult general neurology and subspecialty patients - teaching medical trainees. - Must be able to work the required 7 day shift - MD or equivalent - Board certified/board eligible in Neurology - Completed a General Neurology or other subspecialty fellowship - Applicants must meet the criteria for medical licensure in the State of Connecticut.
