We are looking for a Junior Software Developer with good knowledge and abilities to communicate effectively, understand problems and propose solutions. The position is well-suited for an organized individual who can meet deadlines, follow written procedures, collaborate for improvements, and be a team player. You will be part of: The Risk Measurement Team, which implements internal pricing models, designs efficient large-scale distributed systems to compute market risks, generates periodic reports for internal risk management, and develops sophisticated risk-analysis tools for use by retail and institutional clients. Your key responsibilities will be to:

• Build, enhance and maintain various numerically-oriented proprietary applications.
• Develop back-end processes and front-end reports, which provide quantitative analysis for our clients and internal risk managers. You are someone who will have:
  • Bachelor's in Computer Science or related subjects, or Master's degree preferred.
  • Minimum of 1 year experience with one or more of the following languages: C++11 or above, Python, Java, Perl.
  • Familiarity with Linux/Unix.
  • Understanding of socket-level programming, distributed computing, and web technologies.
  • Basic knowledge of SQL and relational databases.
  • Focus on designing solutions for testability, maintainability, and run-time robustness. Qualities we'd love to see:
    • The ability to work with large quantities of data, generate reports based on them, validate your results, and be proactive in identifying and resolving issues.
    • The willingness to work in an agile development environment with small and frequent releases, mostly as part of a team but sometimes on a solo basis.
    • Availability to provide occasional second-line remote support outside business hours.
    • Understanding of version control, change management, and automated bug tracking.
