The role duties include, but are not limited to:Contributing to the technical delivery efforts of the teamDesigning, coding and testing components and sub-systems in support of portfolio construction and optimization, trading execution and analytics processesParticipating in design discussions with the Development Lead and other developers on the team to flesh out technical solutionsParticipating in the definition and evolution of the team---s core set of best practices and SDLCConducting code reviews and writing high quality code aimed at helping the team solve challenging problems in elegant waysWorking closely with the business to understand the key problems and pain points, and devise solutions to meet themResearching and prototyping new tools, techniques and practices for use in our environment to increase innovation and the business value deliveredWe---re looking for a technologist who exhibits a passion for technology, combined with exceptional ownership and drive to be an essential part of a world-class development team. The Developer will interact with a wide array of stakeholders from business users to the technology support team, and other members of the development team. Developers must be highly technical, detail oriented, strong executors and able to multitask to ensure all open items are completed in a timely, excellent way.Bachelors degree in a Technology, Mathematics, Scientific or Engineering based disciplineA high degree of technical curiosity and a real passion for technology Familiarity with modern development methodologies, practices, and tools (OO Design, Design patterns, Agile SDLC, etc.Strong technical skills and fluency with .NET, Java, or C++Detail oriented and able to operate in a fast paced, high pressure environment.Articulate and communicate effectively under pressure with both technical and non-technical personnelGrace under pressure, combined with paranoia/high responsibility. Imagine a nuclear power plant or an emergency room employee. Good common sense/judgment and logical problem solving skills, including knowing when to ask for help.Fast processing speed.
