OverviewThe Senior HR Business Partner Specialist position is responsible for supporting a client group (approximately 250-400 employees and their management) across employee relations, performance management, employee engagement, employee development, and retention. Size of organization(s) supported will vary according to factors including mission, complexity, and role composition of departments supported. Additionally the HR Business Partner Specialist will support the HR department and Greenwich Hospital in one of the HR technical functions. These may include the areas of HRIS, Compensation, Benefits, etc.
Responsibilities1. Business Partnership1.1. Supports client group in the administration of human resources policies and procedures.1.2. Visits departments on a regularly scheduled basis and attends appropriate department meetings in order to fully understand and relate to the purpose, programs, work roles, and overall milieu of departments being served.1.3. Responsible for HR communications including the writing and production of materials. 2. Employee Engagement2.1. Analyzes data to identify workforce trends and recommends strategies to enhance employee engagement.2.2. Engages directly with management and employee teams on engagement initiatives; support and track action plans. 3. Employee Relations3.1. Provides advice, assistance and follow-up on issues related to human resource policies, procedures and documentation.3.2. Facilitates the resolution of employee concerns/issues by serving as the liaison between employees and the Human Resources Department.3.3. Conducts and/or ensures implementation of exit interviews for terminating employees. Evaluates interview information, identifying retention and employee relations problems.3.4. Independently managers complex employee relations issues 4. Performance Management4.1 Support client group in key performance management principles including clarifying expectations, setting objectives, identifying goals, providing feedback, and reviewing results. 5. Technical Specialization5.1. Maintains current knowledge of applications related to area of technical function expertise. This may include Lawson, Healthcare Source, Business Objects, Compensation systems, Web applications etc.5.2. Responsible for providing support to users in area of HR technical function specialization. 6. Leadership6.1 Serves as mentor to less experienced staff, assisting in their professional growth. 7. Other7.1. Partners with Recruitment organization and client group to ensure appropriate recruitment strategies are implemented and department staffing needs are being met.7.2. Serves as staff support for organization wide initiatives including HR changes in technology, systems, programs, practices, and initiatives.7.3. Lead initiatives on behalf of the HR department as assigned.7.4. Performs other HR duties as assigned.
EDUCATIONBachelor's degree in a related field or equivalent combination of education, certifications and experience required.
EXPERIENCEFive (5) years of Human Resources related experience required, preferably in a hospital setting.
SPECIAL SKILLSExcellent verbal and written communication skills required. Ability to effectively build relationships with varied client groups. Consistently delivers excellent customer service. Demonstrated ability to successfully navigate challenging, confidential situations with tact and sensitivity. Excellent attention to detail and demonstrated ability to enhance and streamline HR related processes.
